Research Associates Recruitment Policy

  1. Position approvals are required for all full time and part time faculty positions (both new and replacements) and research associates. Excluded are positions with the visiting or clinical prefix.
  2. Position requests for recruitment of tenured and tenure stream faculty (both new and replacements) must follow affirmative action and recruitment guidelines as outlined in the Procedure Document Number 02-02-15, March 10, 1992.  Position requests must include the fully completed Affirmative Action Pre-Audit Search Form and a copy of the proposed position notice (advertisement).  All tenured and tenure stream positions must be advertised in a minimum of three national journals, etc.
  3. Position requests for recruitment of non-tenure stream positions (both new and replacements) must follow the same procedure as stated above.  Other than in exceptional circumstances, all of these positions (excluding research associates) also must be advertised in national journals, etc. Processing the Affirmative Action Pre-Audit Search Form and a copy of the advertisement will allow for a minimal position notice in the University Times for research associate positions.
  4. If a position request covers more than one position, a separate Affirmative Action Pre-Audit Search Form and copy of the advertisement must be submitted for each requested position.
